Un-hangable was not in the dictionary.
It was a man walking around.
It was Benjamin James McSwain.

An innocent, young man who is sentenced to hang vows to outlive all twelve jury members. What are the ODDS? IMPOSSIBLE!

Nineteen-year-old Benjamin James McSwain joins the White Caps Organization (similar to the KKK) and pledges total secrecy . . . a blood oath with his signature in his blood at Devil’s Bend, Mississippi, in 1893.

UN-HANGABLE by Duel Stone is based on recorded and witnessed facts and a fascinating story of a man who was hanged, yet who lived to tell the tale. It is an unusual story of the assassination of the son of the wealthiest man in the county, of a convicted prisoner's escape through a jailbreak by friends, and of a leader who was elected governor on the basis of his promise to repeal the death penalty so a convicted prisoner might live. It also includes the workings of a band of men called 'White Caps' (similar to the KKK or Ku Klux Klan), who conducted a reign of terror in southern Mississippi post Civil War era. It is an intriguing account of the incredible deeds of a group of murderers with their lips sealed while an innocent friend, who took their blood oath of secrecy at Devil's Bend, Mississippi, goes to the gallows.

When Jason Cole was killed, did emotions rule rather than reason and evidence? Someone had to pay for the death of a rich man's son. Why was everyone in the courtroom armed and deputized? It was to thwart the White Caps from trying to rescue Ben McSwain from the courtroom. Without regard to sworn testimonies, the attitude of the twelve-man jury was fixed toward a conviction.

Thousands gathered to watch the hanging. When the noose slipped and Ben McSwain miraculously plummeted to the ground, without his neck breaking, it was considered a Divine Deliverance.
The legendary events: the murder of Jason Cole . . . the White Caps lynching a black man . . . the conspiracy against Benjamin . . . the trial . . . the conviction . . . the hanging . . . the miracle on the gallows . . . the jailbreak . . . imprisonment . . . the pardon . . . the deathbed confession . . . the exoneration . . . the legislative compensation . . . and Ben's courtroom unwavering claim of innocence and his prophetic vow to outlive the twelve men on the jury propel UN-HANGABLE to be an inspirational and unforgettable story.
Twenty-three years after the murder, one of the two men who murdered the Cole brother, exonerates Ben by giving a death-bed confession. Three years later, the Mississippi legislature compensates Ben for the erroneous conviction.
Ben’s courtroom unwavering claim of innocence and his prophetic vow to outlive the twelve men on the jury comes true . . . He outlives the last jury member by three days.
